InSite: FIELD GUIDE

October 10-11, 2025

Wild Space Dance Company’s InSite program returns for its fourth season with a FREE, immersive dance performance at Havenwoods State Forest. Guided along wooded trails, audiences encounter dance woven into the landscape, invited to fall into the rhythms of the natural world. Featuring Ometochtli Mexican Folk Dance and guest choreographers, this site-specific performance celebrates local ecosystems and urban wilderness. Comfortable walking shoes and a spirit of curiosity are all that’s required.

Come for one, two, or all events!

**Rain Date - 4pm October 12th

Events are FREE but registration is required.

Preshow talks with Havenwoods park rangers will illuminate the fascinating history of the site - from penitentiary and farm to internment camp, to missile silo base, and now, a thriving state forest within Milwaukee city limits.

Guided meditative walks with collaborating artists will feature mind-body practices, deep listening, and visual exercises designed to heighten awareness of the natural surroundings.

This program is made possible in part by a Ruth Foundation for the Arts' Wisconsin Special Project Grant and Bader Philanthropies. This program is supported by a grant from the Milwaukee Arts Board and the Wisconsin Arts Board with funds from the State of Wisconsin and the National Endowment for the Arts. Thanks to our season sponsors Stephen Baker & Dr. Nadine A. Chang, Gardner Foundation, Greater Milwaukee Foundation, Herzfeld Foundation, Milwaukee County CAMPAC, PPC Foundation, Bert L. & Patricia S. Steigleder Charitable Trust, United Performing Arts Fund (UPAF), and individual donors.
