In fall 2013, Wild Space launched Neighborhood Sites, a community-based site-specific initiative. Based on the company's long-standing partnership with Milwaukee, Neighborhood Sites engages residents and businesses in developing site-specific events that enhance their neighborhood’s image.
For the 2013-2014 season, Wild Space presented Acts of Wilderness, a public performance in the Menomonee Valley's Three Bridges Park, which connects the Layton Boulevard West and Clarke Square neighborhoods with the Menomonee Valley. For 2014-2015, Wild Space presented Brew City Dreams in the Schlitz Park Stock-House, with related outreach at Lincoln Middle School of the Arts and Elm Creative Arts Elementary School. 2015-2016 featured Luminous in the Mitchell Park Horticultural Conservatory Annex and outreach with neighborhood schools Longfellow Elementary and El Puente High School.
The 2016-2017 season featured Into the Garden at Villa Terrace and outreach at Lincoln Center Middle School of the Arts and Riverside High School.
2016-2017 Neighborhood Sites performance and outreach programs are supported in part by grants from The Brico Fund, The Herzfeld Foundation, The Greater Milwaukee Foundation's George H. & Virgilee F. Krueck Fund, The Milwaukee Arts Board and the Wisconsin Arts Board, with funds from the State of Wisconsin.
